How It Started...

Despite the name, “Strictly Calm” actually comes from quite a dark place. I found myself surrounded by a lot of bad role models in an environment where violence and substance abuse were neither unfamiliar nor uncommon.

After dropping out of college, my friends and I began to make music, and slithers of light started to enter the room we were in. I saw potential in myself and the people around me and felt as though it needed to be harnessed,these opportunities were too good to miss. Thus, we created The AC Collective. Having this platform made us feel unstoppable, as though we were part of something bigger.

One thing led to another, and at the ripe age of 17, I received a much-needed reality check, which led us to swap slinging grams for selling garms. Since then, my efforts have been directed into organising shoots, promoting events, and creating a brighter future for myself and the friends of Strictly Calm.

What you see today is a tiny part of a grander vision. We will continue to grow our platform to enable the artists of the future. We will freely share our resources and education to show the youth of tomorrow that there is a better way.
